Here’s A Design Hack That Changes Everything…

Ever heard of Clipping Masks?

It’s where you can take any texture, picture, graphic and clip it onto your layer below.

Just like in this example where I opened Procreate, added a new layer and typed in “chill” and then used clipping mask to clip all the textures, silouettes and other elements to the text to create this design.

And I stoked how it came out!

One click, and it instantly molds to every corner of your text without affecting the rest of your design.

Now, imagine using this in Glorify…

Wouldn’t it be amazing?

I’ve tried layering, tweaking, and using blending modes to get everything just right, but it’s not the same.

And, it takes forever!

Without a clipping mask, I feel limited in Glorify.

I’m not saying you can’t create stunning designs without it, but this one feature would open up a world of possibilities.

So far, I’ve used it in Procreate, and with zero hassle, it works like magic.

Naturally, I reached out to Omar, the CEO of Glorify, to see if this feature could be on the horizon. He said, “Consider it done.”

But since then, I haven’t seen any updates on it.

Anyway…

When it does come to Glorify, get ready to craft texture-rich text, dynamic visuals, and eye-catching designs—even faster than now.

But until then, we’ll have to wait.

Now, like what I’ve designed above?

Only The Brave Survive This Deadly Movie Poster (Designed In Glorify)

Designed Using Glorify

Now that we’re in the heart of Halloween, I’ve been diving deep into Glorify, exploring ways to create powerful, atmospheric movie posters inspired by horror films.

I took on this challenge to see if Glorify could handle techniques typically reserved for Photoshop or Affinity—like blending, dodge & burn, and more—to achieve that haunting, cinematic look.

To my surprise, even though Glorify isn’t built as a heavy-duty design tool, it’s exceeded my expectations. I’m genuinely impressed with what you can create in it.

While it’s not flawless, I can confidently say it’s more than capable for movie posters that require masking and other effects.

If you enjoy it, let me know what you think! And if you’re curious to try Glorify yourself, here’s where you can get started:

Announcing An Event? Use This Glorify Template…

Today, I designed something special—or at least, I think it is!

It’s an announcement flyer designed to promote an upcoming event, giveaway, or similar occasion.

This design can also be adapted into a series of flyers to send out via email to your subscriber list.

Alternatively, you could use it in Systeme.io, ThriveCart, or Thrive Architect to build an opt-in page or even a checkout page for a paid mini-workshop, all in the same style.

The Story That Still Gives Me Goosebumps!

It took exactly eight minutes and 40 seconds.

I jumped off the roof and ran.

My friend shouted.

“Here… here…”

There was a small ditch just wide enough for both of us.

We jumped in and kept still.

The night was pitch black.

A large bush loomed above the ditch, giving us the perfect cover.

The air was cold, and it started raining.

I heard two guys step out of the car and slam the doors.

My heart was racing like I had just run a mile in under four minutes.

We lay in the ditch, covered in mud, wet, and scared out of our minds.

The grass around the ditch was long and slick from the rain.

I could hear heavy steps through the grass, coming closer and closer.

I covered my face with my black glove and didn’t move.

We were still, like two big rocks blending into the environment.

They stopped just before the ditch.

One of them was no more than four meters away from us.

I thought to myself…

“Tonight, we might get caught.”

About five seconds later, the rain turned into a massive storm.

The kind of rain that floods rivers in minutes.

It was the most intense downpour I had ever experienced.

And I would bet everything I own that it saved our asses.

I turned around and asked my friend,

“Are you alright?”

“Yeah,” he said.

We waited for another five minutes.

When the rain eased up, we got up and ran further into the darkness, as far from the train station as we could.

We were never caught.

The next day was bright and sunny.

We took the train to see the art we did on the wall.

It wasn’t finished, but it stood out like a fart in a library.

We were proud.

Now, almost 20 years later, we don’t do graffiti anymore.

Times changed.

Even though I miss the adrenaline and the thrill, I channel it into graphic design.

Not the same, I know…

But for now, it’s good.

I started September with a new design…

Expanded it and kept working on it.

Now, it’s in the planning stages for a tutorial.

(Do you see the first design blended in the second. I’ll show you how I’ve done it in the tutorial)

This week or next, so keep an eye on it.

I’ll let you know.

All the best,

The Right Tools For The Job… (And FREE Gift)

Libor Bednarik Designer Cover

A few weeks ago, I picked up a Karcher K4 power washer, and let me tell you, it’s a game-changer.

I tried it yesterday.

It works like magic.

Half the garden is now sparkling clean.

As I blasted away the dirt with ease, it hit me!

How important it is to have the right tools for the job…

And how much of a difference it makes.

If I had stuck with a brush, I would still be out there scrubbing, exhausted, and probably cursing my life.

Instead, I power-washed those tiles in minutes, excited like a kid with a garden hose.

In graphic design, marketing, or any field, it’s the same story.

When you’re creating images, ads, or social media content, you need the right tools. Try designing ebook covers in PowerPoint, and you’ll be wasting time.

Me?

I use Glorify.

It makes designing anything fun—pure gold!

Back in 2019, if you woke me up at 2 a.m. and asked me what the best tool for designers was, I would have told you, without a doubt, Photoshop. I was all in…

But since I’ve always appreciated tools that are more fun to use, I couldn’t say no to Glorify… and I had to give it a shot.

Don’t get me wrong, I used Photoshop for almost 7 years before I tried Glorify. So, I thought I knew it inside and out. But often, I felt there had to be something better, something more fun and easier to use.

And then, I found Glorify. I became an early adopter almost the same day.

Soon enough, I realized how much time I was wasting with Photoshop.

Glorify is simpler, better, and about 90% of what I was looking for.

Of course, it’s not perfect, but for what I need, it’s way more exciting to use than Photoshop.

Since Glorify 3.0, I’ve ditched Photoshop completely. Now, I do all my designs in Glorify, and I couldn’t be happier.

A few days ago, I designed this fun Facebook cover. I tried a few variations and loved how it came out.

Would I be able to design it in Photoshop?

Of course!

But in Glorify, it’s more fun.

If you want to give it a shot, use my link below.

They’ve got a 7-day trial.

Meaning, it’s free for 7 days.

Goals For August 2024

New month, new goals…

This month, I’m taking a different approach. I’ll be revisiting some of my old blog posts to rewrite, update, and transform them into powerful resources.

I also plan to redesign some of the images and create templates specifically for digital marketers.

The main focus will be on enhancing the blog posts that need improvement and redesigning images.

Additionally, my two bridge pages will get a fresh look, and I’ll be designing and uploading new templates to my “designwithglorify.com” project.

And, of course, there’s plenty of work to be done for clients.

So… Let’s go

Something Big Is Coming Up

Yesterday, I started working on a mini-course for Glorify that I’m going to give away as a bonus to those who sign up for Glorify.

I’ve just completed the outline and am about to start working on the videos.

I’m considering giving it away either as a bonus or as an email series spread across 12 days.

Or maybe I’ll do both.

It will be free for people who already have Glorify but aren’t sure how to design anything, so it’s geared toward complete beginners. It will also be a bonus for those who are thinking about getting Glorify but haven’t taken the plunge yet.

So, I’m planning to create a page with an opt-in form. People will enter their email and be automatically redirected to another page that says something like this:

“Thanks for signing up! The first video in the 12-part series is on its way to your mailbox. I hope you provided the correct email address so you don’t miss it.

While you’re waiting for the first video to arrive, please note that you’ll need access to the Glorify design tool to follow along.

I know it’s obvious, but just making sure you know that it’s about Glorify (my favorite design tool) and that you’ll need access to it to follow along.

Lucky you, I’m giving away all my bonuses on this page. You can grab them if you haven’t gotten Glorify yet.

If you already have Glorify, then head over to your mailbox and enjoy the first video in the 12-part series.

The subject line will be:

Glorify 101 – 1/12: Getting to Know Glorify

I’m going to walk you through it, help you navigate, show you my favorite features, and give you access to my color palettes and other resources.

Ready?

Then, let’s go!”

I think this is not bad. There is obviously a better way to write such a message, but for now, just to move on and publish it as soon as possible, I’ll leave it the way it is.

Once it’s up, I’ll test it against another version or, based on feedback, change it, rewrite it, add a few things, or do whatever else needs to be done until I write a message that resonates with people and prompts them to take action.

But as I’m saying, for now, it’s alright.

What do you think?

Do you have a better idea?

Is there anything I should include?

Let me know in the comments section.

How I’m Doubling Down and Eliminating Distractions (1 July Update)

Alright, here’s the game plan for the second half of the year:

  • Double down on what’s already killing it.
  • Cut out the junk.
  • Amp up the quality of what’s already out there.

    Case in point:

    • My offer for Glorify needs a slick new pitch.
    • The Glorify template website needs a serious facelift.
    • The Giant Swipe File library of magazine ads? It’s moving to Carrd!

The offer, even though it’s free, needs to hit harder for a specific crowd. I want this resource to be respected, useful, and invaluable — not something that collects dust.

Beyond that, I’ll be cranking out updates, maintaining, and cooking up new content for my personal blog.

I’m also gonna let you peek behind the curtain into my “work/design life” with graphic design videos that show you how I craft killer content, ads, and flyers.

Expect a treasure trove of tips on how to craft stunning images with simple tools like Glorify and more.

These are gonna be no-nonsense, silent videos where I capture the magic as it happens.

You’ll be able to grab the templates and do whatever you want with them.

Last week, I stumbled on something that knocked my socks off.

Ever heard of Martijn Doolaard and his jaw-dropping videos? If you haven’t, drop everything and sprint over to his YouTube channel. His videos are nothing short of spectacular!

I’ve seen a ton of videos, but this is on a whole different level. I haven’t been this fired up and inspired in a long time.

What gets me pumped, besides the breathtaking locations and the idea of living a simpler, more fulfilling life, is the sheer quality of his content.

The storytelling is on another planet. The way he shoots his videos — the framing, the angles, the overhead shots, the colors, every tiny detail, including the sound and music in the background — made his videos my go-to whenever I’m overwhelmed, stressed, and need a breather.

Even though it’s not about graphic design, making money online, or business in general, I’ve pulled dozens of business lessons from it.

More importantly, it’s a wake-up call that one day we’re gonna be burried under the ground. Watching Martijn chase his dream is more than just inspiring.

Alright, enough chit-chat. Time to get back to work.

Here’s what’s on the plate for this week…

Why Daydreaming is Ruining Your Creativity

Three months ago, I was lying in bed dreaming about this moment.

I kept telling myself, “One day, I’ll wake up and the holidays will be here.”

Fast forward to two months before the holiday, and I was cursing under my breath, thinking, “Damn, it’s still two months away.”

One month before the holiday, the excitement started bubbling up, but it still felt so far off.

And now, here I am, one day before the holiday, sitting here, marveling at how fast time flies.

    Strange, isn’t it?

So, why am I telling you this?

Well, there are two big lessons here.

First, never underestimate the power of being present. And second, savor every damn moment you’ve got on this spinning rock we call home.

If you’re always stuck in your head, daydreaming about the future, you’ll miss out on the present. You’ll miss the magic happening around you right now.

    It could be anything…

The most obvious is quality time with your loved ones. But it’s also about appreciating nature, your personal growth, seizing spontaneous opportunities, and finding joy in simple pleasures like a good conversation.

And here’s a big one for me: creativity and inspiration. You don’t want to be walking around with your head in the clouds, missing out on all the amazing stuff happening around you. Especially when it comes to drawing inspiration from your surroundings.

You’d be amazed at how the smallest things can spark a brilliant idea. Like a piece of trash on the side of the road inspiring a flyer design for a cleaning company.

Or seeing a woman cleaning her window sparking a series of ads about the importance of washing your gear after a mountain bike ride, selling everything from power washers to cleaning cloths.

In other words, don’t miss out on those small details you can only catch when you’re fully present.

Tune your antenna. You’ll find that coming up with new ideas becomes a breeze.

And if you need a powerful tool to turn your ideas into content that grabs attention and brings in new subscribers, here’s your best bet…

    https://liborbednarik.com/glorify

P.S. Did you know there’s a goldmine of extra cash waiting for you? It’s just sitting there, ripe for the picking, through tools like Glorify, Systeme, ThriveCart, and thousands of other amazing platforms as an affiliate.

If you’re already using any of the tools on my handpicked list designed to save you time, why not sign up as an affiliate? Get your link and create something of real value to offer people signing up through your link.

    They’ll love you for it.

    You’ll make some serious cash.

    Anyway, just saying.

If you wanna learn more about it, here is where to go…

9-5 Jobs, My Take On How To Become Independent…

Don’t care which job it is—hairdresser, call center, office jobs, postman, cleaner, caregiver, waitress—most of them were designed to make you a slave.

They turn you into a worker bee, shut you up, and condition you to become less and less independent.

In fact, the biggest enemy for the government is your independence.

They want you to work for minimum wage, doing something that has no meaning. The fewer questions you ask, the better.

Unless you enjoy that, why not chase something you’re really passionate about?

And if you have no idea what your passion is right now, don’t beat yourself up…

    Perhaps these tips can help…

Read books about successful people for an hour a day to open your mind to new possibilities.

Join online groups where passionate people hang out, and see what they are talking about.

Turn yourself into a big sponge to absorb all the ideas you don’t even know exist right now.

In my opinion, the best place to find unlimited ideas is Magazines.com.

There are thousands of magazines about any kind of passion or subject you can imagine, sometimes even the most ridiculous things you would never think of. All profitable, all tested ideas.

One thing you can be sure of is that, once it is in the magazine, it is profitable. Businesses pay crazy money to have their ads displayed. The subjects in the magazines, for example “knitting,” are profitable niches. People spend money in those niches. So, look at the ads. Look at the headlines and see if that’s something for you.

Remember, you can become an expert in anything you want.

The funny thing is that you don’t even have to become an expert, you just have to be one step ahead of the person reading or watching your content.

    Anyway…

    Another great place is Udemy.com.

There are courses—from knitting to becoming an expert real estate agent. See if there is something you like and can imagine doing.

Etsy.com is another one, especially the category section. There are hundreds of products in any niche you can think of. Is there a niche you like?

The best-selling items on Amazon.com are also a great example where you can tap into unlimited ideas.

And so… pick something that’s closest to your heart and go fully into it.

Read books about the subject, join courses, and learn from people who are a few steps ahead of you. Keep learning until you become an expert yourself and can share your knowledge with others.

Create your own following on Instagram or Facebook like Jess did in the knitting niche.

She lost her job and had no idea what she was going to do next. It took her four months to discover that knitting is something she likes and would like to learn about. She also found that there are thousands of women wanting to learn about knitting. So, every time she learned something, she shared it on her Instagram page along with her opinions about it and photos and videos of her knitting.

In less than six months of consistently posting on her Instagram page, she built a following of over one hundred thousand followers who hang on to everything she posts. Now, two years later, she has her own course about knitting and is considered the number one knitting expert in the niche—making six figures a year selling her course, earning money from advertising, and so on.

Now, the question is, would any of that have happened if she had pursued the traditional way of finding a full-time job and slaving her time for minimum wage?

    Probably not.

She would have had no time and energy and most likely would have ended up just dreaming about what it would be like to be independent and have time for herself… like most of us do.

Because having freedom in life is the best thing EVER!

    You know that.

    I know that….

…and so, find your passion and pursue it!

Chase your dreams until you don’t have to go to sleep to dream about them.

To learn about the number one strategy to make it all happen, follow the link below.

    Heard of This Font?

A few days ago, I stumbled upon a beautiful font.

You know when you look at an advertisement and can’t help but wonder, “What the hell is this font?”

And the more you look at it, the more you like it…

Well, that’s exactly what happened to me the other day.

I took a screenshot of the headline (by the way, this font is perfect for headlines, titles, and news-style ads) where you need a font that screams, “Look at me, I’m here!” and will help you keep that attention.

It’s bold and it stands out.

It’s something you can’t miss when you stumble upon it.

Not too different from getting smacked with a hammer right in your face.

Anyway, after I took the screenshot, I went to find out what it is using tools like “whatthefont” from MyFonts, and it spat out a few options.

After digging into it with a magnifying glass, I finally found out what font it is… and it was none other than,

    Jubilat.

    It’s part of Adobe Fonts.

It’s expensive, and you probably won’t own it until you’re a hundred percent in love with it and want this font to be your main font.

Here, I wanted to show you how I used in my recent design.

    So… What do you think?

I also used Montserrat for the subheading.

    Do you like it?

Rolling Into Monday With A New Movie Poster Designed In Glorify

    …which actually begs the question.

Can you design movie posters in Glorify?

The simple answer is yes, but keep in mind that Glorify was not designed to handle heavy use of layers, textures, or gradients.

    Masking in Glorify is non-existent.

In other words, it ain’t Photoshop!

Working with multiple layers can be a challenge, especially when you’re trying to cover parts of the image that you don’t want to see. Sometimes it requires stacking up layers in a specific way to get the desired outcome…

…which means it’s gonna be a long day for ya if that’s what you need.

For that kind of work, by all means, go to Photoshop. In Photoshop, you’ve got other tools like clipping masks and so on, making it easier to design movie posters.

But anyway… even though Glorify wasn’t designed for such things, it’s still a great tool to use to design anything you want, especially if you have zero design skills.

In fact my favorite design tool…

    Killer Design Looks Using Textures

One of my favorite things to do when I’m designing a flyer for adventure-related content, sports, music events, or whatever, is to use textures.

These textures could be anything from dirt, grunge, grain, paper cuts, noise, dust, gritty-grainy, concrete, gravel, or film textures.

They give the design a completely different look.

For example, take the project I worked on yesterday:

Here is a render without the texture:

To my eye, the design looks naked.

Now, look at the design with the texture. Actually, two textures stacked on top of each other.

    Totally different.

Now it looks more like a movie poster…

Well, it could be one if I added a few key elements.

    Whatever…

What I’m suggesting here is that you use textures to add more character to your overall design.

#32 Rise Up – Glorify Instagram Template

Actually more of a flyer, but still a design that you can easily turn into an Instagram social media post or Facebook cover if that’s what you’re after.

Or shall I do it for you?

If yes, then hit me up. Send me an email with your request, your name, and what exactly you want.

Just keep in mind that I might charge you somewhere between 20-50 EUR for the custom work.

If that’s something you’re interested in, let me know.

Other than that, you can grab this design, change the style, text, colors, size, and pretty much do whatever you want with it.

What you can’t do is claim it as your work. Also, you can’t upload it anywhere and sell it.

#31 Enhancing Product Images In Glorify… (New Template Coming Up)

How do you go from this…

…a simple photo of a product to something more presentable, something spicier and worth people’s attention?

    …to something like this?

Well, I’m glad you asked, because what I’m about to show you will help you boost your product images like nothing else.

    Ready?

    Use contrast in your images.

Do you see the rectangle and how the color stands out?

Well, this is for a reason. If you were to remove the rectangle, there would be nothing to draw your eyes to. It works like an anchor. It makes the product pop from the background.

It makes it easier to see what this image is all about. Plus, the color is bright, making the whole image stand out.

    But anyway…

Now that you know, what are you going to do with this information?

    All the best…
