If you’ve been following me for a while, you know how important it is to have your own swipe file.
I keep reminding you to collect ads like a broken record… but it’s something I believe you should pay attention to if you want to design better images.
If you’re selling a product (I don’t care what it is), magazine ads are your friend because the designers who create them have figured out how to keep you engaged and make you take action.
If this wasn’t the case, these magazines would NOT survive.
So, by all means, pay attention to them, study them, and find out what strategies they use to get you or your customers interested enough to buy.
That’s my message to you…
It has been invaluable to me…
…a resource everyone should have!

The reason I’m saying this is because there are people who don’t respect it. These scumbags steal content, designs, and art, claiming them as their own… and you know what happens to people like that once it’s determined they stole something of value?
Their hands get chopped off!
Like in the recent example in South Africa. The thief’s hands were cut off because he stole from a mob.
Or the lady who claimed the photographs she downloaded from a professional photographer were her own… she was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison.
So watch out…
Respect others’ work.
And don’t steal!
