Snow.
And lots of it.
Winter is in full swing in the Czech Republic.
This was taken in the mountains up north… just a short hike from the Polish border.
A quiet, beautiful day.

Mushrooms are no joke.
If you do them right… you’ll walk through a door most people don’t even know exists.
If you do them wrong, you’ll meet the devil himself.
There’s a fine line between revelation and ruin… and mushrooms don’t forgive carelessness.
Respect them… and they’ll open up a world you never knew was hiding inside your own mind.
Cold.
Quiet.
You could feel the stillness in the air.
A majestic atmosphere.
The whole scene backlit by golden light.
No deadlines.
No noise.
A bunch of horses around.
Me?
I was right there.
Free.
Watching the light.
Watching those horses move, thinking how peaceful their lives must be.
That’s the shot.
That’s the story.
Because sometimes, the world rushes by…
I can feel winter knocking.
Not here yet, but close enough to smell it in the air. The mornings are colder. The fog rolls in heavier. And when the sun finally breaks through… it hits the landscape like fire through smoke.
I took this shot a while ago… but every time I look at it, I can still feel that glow.
That silence. That peace. Man, I loved being out there.
Found this old sequence of seven shots sitting on my hard drive. Stitched them together… and damn, it hit me again. This was autumn full of crazy deep reds.
We shot this about a minute from home. I told my girlfriend to stand in the shot with her mountain bike… just to show how massive this scene really was.
It’s wild how you can pass the same spot a hundred times and never really appreciate it until one day, you do… and it knocks the wind out of you.
I took this shot while mountain biking along the stream years ago. Autumn was showing off. The air smelled like wet leaves, the ground was a muddy mess, and every corner looked like a potential for a snapping a quick shot.
Cold morning day but perfect.
I took this shot in Beskydy Mountains in the Czech Republic. Was trying to capture the Milky Way but the light polution, even in the mountains, is too strong.
It’s pure magic!
It doesn’t stay like this for long. Perhaps another 2-3 weeks. So if you can, get outside.
Mornings are the best…
Let’s go!
Let the sunshine slap you awake.
Took this one years ago while mountain biking around Kollenberg. On the way home I spotted this magnificent tree. The light was perfect.
Took few shots and BOOM!
A shot that stays in my mind whenever the autumn is in full swing.
Thousands of shots. But this one… this one stuck.
Something about the colors. The quiet. The air…
It’s not perfect — but it’s real!
Funny thing is, I almost left my camera at home that day. Went for a short Sunday walk… and this happened.
Maybe that’s why I keep coming back to it.
Because the photos you love most aren’t the prettiest…
they’re the ones that make you feel something.
Fog. Silence. Light. Nothing else needed!
Sometimes the world looks so perfect it feels staged.
But it’s not.
It’s just nature doing what it does when you decide to show up early enough.
A photograph of a bird watcher who came to Kollenberg in Sittard to watch the sunrise… Just like me, he was there to take in that magnificent morning light.
Snapped this at sunrise on Kollenberg in Sittard.
While most people were hitting snooze, the sky decided to show off. Glad I didn’t miss the show.
This isn’t a fancy location.
Just a field. Some light. A bit of editing in Lightroom.
The magic’s in the edit.
The RAW file was nothing special… flat, dull, lifeless.
But with a bit of tinkering in Lightroom, the photo came alive.
Personally, I love this golden, brown, cinematic glow.
Comment “Cinematic” and I’ll send the preset your way.
