Fog. Silence. Light. Nothing else needed!
Sometimes the world looks so perfect it feels staged.
But it’s not.
It’s just nature doing what it does when you decide to show up early enough.

I rode past Watersley that morning and the colors stopped me cold. The trees were on fire, the air crisp… one of those moments you know won’t last long.
The view was too big for one frame, so I shot it in pieces… five, maybe six. Then I stitched it all together in Lightroom, brought out that deep, golden tone, and let the photo breathe.
Sometimes you don’t plan the shot… it just happens.
A photograph of a bird watcher who came to Kollenberg in Sittard to watch the sunrise… Just like me, he was there to take in that magnificent morning light.
We got lucky that week in Port Zélande…
Five straight days of clear skies.
On the second evening, we walked down to the beach. The air was still, the sky turning gold. We didn’t say much — just watched the light reflect over the water.
Moments like that stick with you — not because they’re loud, but because they remind you how damn good it feels to just be there.
Most people sleep through the best part of the day.
That quiet moment before the world wakes up… when the air bites a little, and the sun slowly starts painting everything gold.
We got up before dawn. Walked down to the beach in Port Zélande. No crowds. No noise.
Just the sound of water. I asked her to pose for me. She balanced perfectly against the sunrise.
There’s something special about mornings like this. They remind you that life doesn’t need more things… just more moments that make you feel alive.
You ever stare at your work so long it starts staring back?
It’s late. The kind of late where the air feels heavy. Outside is dark. The house is quiet.
You tell yourself it’s just the house settling… but deep down, you know something weird is going on.
You step into the kitchen to grab something to drink, and suddenly you hear sounds that weren’t there before.
A floorboard creaks.
Then something moves in the corner of your eye, and you feel like you’re being watched.
That’s exactly how it felt when I was working on this movie poster.
I don’t know what it was… the shadows on the screen, the silence, or the way the design started to look… alive.
At one point, I swear I heard whispering.
I must’ve been tired. My mind was playing tricks on me.
And never in all my years as a designer have I wanted to be done with a project faster.
But anyway…
Happy Halloween.
Snapped this at sunrise on Kollenberg in Sittard.
While most people were hitting snooze, the sky decided to show off. Glad I didn’t miss the show.
I found this old hunter’s hut by accident.
Just sitting there below Kollenberg… like it had a story to tell.
The light wasn’t right that day, but I could feel it — if I came back early enough, the sunrise would set it on fire.
So I did.
Next morning, I was there before the birds. The air was cold. I sat there, waiting.
And when the sun finally broke through… the whole scene lit up like someone had poured gasoline on the horizon and started the fire.
This isn’t a fancy location.
Just a field. Some light. A bit of editing in Lightroom.
The magic’s in the edit.
The RAW file was nothing special… flat, dull, lifeless.
But with a bit of tinkering in Lightroom, the photo came alive.
Personally, I love this golden, brown, cinematic glow.
Comment “Cinematic” and I’ll send the preset your way.
“Getting lost is not a waste of time. Staying where nothing moves you is.”
Woke up on a winding road somewhere in the Corsican mountains.
Didn’t know exactly where I was. Didn’t care.
The view was ridiculous… the kind that makes you forget time. Made myself a cup of super strong coffee, watched the sun crawl over the peaks, and thought…
…this right here… this is what most people trade away for comfort.
Fuck comfort!
“It’s not about what’s in front of you. It’s about the way you see it — the angle, the light, the truth hiding in plain sight.”
Photograph from my morning mountain bike ride along Geleenbeek in Munstergeleen and further.
“I view photography the way I view life: magical and full of possibility.”
Photograph taken from Bergstraat, Sittard just before sunrise.
I can’t sit still.
Somewhere out there, the sun’s rising without me… and that kills me a little.
Everyone wants the rainbow.
No one wants to get wet…
I got soaked that day.
Not just a little… a lot.
Was it worth it?
Hell yeahhh!
Since we met, you’ve driven me absolutely insane in the best way possible.
You make my life louder, funnier, messier, and sharper.
But don’t get your hopes up… sometimes you’re annoying too!
Still, I wouldn’t trade a single second of it.
You’ve got this energy that pulls me in every damn time… The way you talk, the way you move, the way you carry yourself… even after four years, it’s still something I’d find hard to live without.
You make me want to be better. Not in some cliché way, but in that quiet way where I catch myself caring more,
feeling more, fighting harder.
You’ve become this beautiful problem I never want to solve.
So yeah… happy birthday, my love.
You’ve got me on fire, and I hope it never stops burning.
