#149 Foggy Morning Sunrise

149 Foggy Morning Sunrise

Great morning mountain bike ride around the Maas river.

And perfect Sunday morning.

Paradise for taking photos… the fog difused the light perfectly. Everything looked like I was in a movie.

#138 Danikerbos Morning MTB Ride

138 Danikerbos Morning MTB Ride

There are days when I don’t feel like doing anything.

But then I push myself — and about 97% of the time, I’m glad I dragged my butt off the couch and went out for a ride.

This time it was foggy.

I didn’t expect it to clear.

Didn’t expect the sun to break through at all.

But then it did.

And when it did, it lit up the whole forest like it was on fire.

Amazing morning.

One of those where you’re really glad you pushed yourself.

#134 Lost In Beskydy Mountains

The Beskydy Mountains should be a top priority if you ever visit the Czech Republic.

Most people go to Prague, Český Krumlov… maybe Brno.
Very few make it to the northeast corner of the country — and that’s a shame.

Up here, hiking is part of everyday life.
So is eating great food and drinking what’s probably the best beer in the world.
It’s just normal for the locals.

And the second best thing?
It’s cheap.

Good trails, good food, good beer — without the crowds or the tourist prices.

You’re welcome.

#133 Frozen MTB Ride

133 Frozen

Out mountain biking in Geleen. Perfect time to hit the trails. I’ve been neglecting it for a while, so it felt good to finally grab the bike and go for a ride.

#129 Early Morning Walk – Kollenberg

129 Early Morning Walk - Kollenberg

Cold on the Kollenberg.

But the good kind of cold.

The kind that wakes you up properly.

I forgot my gloves, and my fingers were screaming “give us a break” the whole time.

Lesson learned… again.

Still worth it though.

I stayed longer than I planned. Grabbed a few images while my hands slowly went numb.

It’s different up there this time of year.

Quiet.

No rush.

No noise.

Just fresh air, clear head…

I’ll take cold fingers over a noisy day any time.

#108 Prepping For A Hike

108 Prepping For A Hike

Over the next few days — over Christmas — I’m going to share a few photos from the Czech Republic.

While visiting my family, catching up with old friends, and walking through the places I grew up in, I took a couple of shots worth sharing.

This one is from a hike me, my sister, and my cousins did to Skalka.

One of my favourite hikes in the area.

I must have walked it a million times, but every time I’m on that trail, it just feels good.

This time wasn’t any different.

A simple, perfect way to catch up with family.

And what would it be for a hike without a good prep 🙂

#100 Shots Later

100 Shots Later

This one’s special.

My 100th shot upload.

And it’s Monday!

So… here I was… no crowd.

Just me, a headlamp, and about 10 km of pure hiking trail ahead.

I needed it to unwind. I needed to get lost in nature.

Each shot is a quiet reminder that progress doesn’t happen overnight. It happens when you show up… even when it’s dark and no one’s watching.

I’m printing this one as a milestone… personal micro-achievement.

What’s one thing you’ve kept doing long enough to finally feel the change?

#91 Staring At The Rain

91 Libor Bednarik - Staring at the rain

I’ve been staring at the rain for hours.

So long that I got bored.

I took this shot out of pure boredom.

When there’s torrential rain, there’s no point in going out.

Or is it?

It changes everything. Makes for some awesome-looking, dark, moody shots and moments filled with atmosphere.

My favorite part?

The reflections on wet pavement… they just look great.

The funny thing is… half my favorite shots are either right before the rain or just after, when the sky finally opens up… usually packed with depth, stillness, and that calm, dark mood nature paints so well.

So… if you’re hesitating, don’t.

Go out.

Shoot.

#82 Horses at sunrise

Horses at sunrise

Cold.

Quiet.

You could feel the stillness in the air.

A majestic atmosphere.

The whole scene backlit by golden light.

No deadlines.

No noise.

A bunch of horses around.

Me?

I was right there.

Free.

Watching the light.

Watching those horses move, thinking how peaceful their lives must be.

That’s the shot.

That’s the story.

Because sometimes, the world rushes by…

#76 Early Morning Coffee Hike

76 Libor Bednarik Early Morning Coffee Hike

This shot already tells half the story with that glow of the burner.

But let me take you behind it.

It was my first time hiking through the forest in the dark.

I wanted to go early… way before the world is awake. After a week of grinding, noise, and deadlines chewing at my brain, silence is the best therapy there is.

But hiking through those woods before dawn?

Man, it’s no joke.

I swear someone was watching me from behind the trees. My flashlight feelt too weak, and every rustle sounded like some animal was about to eat me.

Still… wouldn’t change a thing.

Need it to get out.

I made myself a cup of coffee and sat there in silence. Could have sat there all day. But time was moving way to fast.

I packed up, hit the trail, and finished the loop… about 7 km of early morning magic.

Took some great shots along the way.

#72 Milky Way From A Czech Campround

72 Milky Way from a Czech Campground

I took this shot in Beskydy Mountains in the Czech Republic. Was trying to capture the Milky Way but the light polution, even in the mountains, is too strong.

#58 Bird Watcher, Kollenberg Sittard

Bird Watcher, Kollenberg Sittard

A photograph of a bird watcher who came to Kollenberg in Sittard to watch the sunrise… Just like me, he was there to take in that magnificent morning light.

#57 Five Days, One Perfect Sunset

Port Zélande Sunset

We got lucky that week in Port Zélande…

Five straight days of clear skies.

On the second evening, we walked down to the beach. The air was still, the sky turning gold. We didn’t say much — just watched the light reflect over the water.

Moments like that stick with you — not because they’re loud, but because they remind you how damn good it feels to just be there.
