A shot taken on a quiet morning walk through one of Sittard’s side streets. Somehow the shot looked better in Black and White.

#95 Not every day’s Sunshine And Rainbows
I pulled this shot out of my archive for one reason…
To remind you that the weather isn’t always sunshine and rainbows… and that’s a good thing.
Once you accept that, and head out anyway, you’ll realize even the “shit” days have something to offer.
Some of my favorite shots were taken when I could barely see ten meters ahead.
Like this one, heavy fog, early morning in Stadspark Sittard… completely swallowed by mist.
I love days like that.
I love photos that look like they were ripped straight out of a slow-burning horror movie.
You can “feel” them.
The silence.
The mood.
The weight of it all.
Every day’s a practice day… but the messy, unpredictable ones?
That’s where you grow.
I pulled out this shot from my archive and want to share it with you for one reason…
…as a reminder that the weather ain’t gonna be always sunhine and rainbows and once you accept that, and head outside even though it’s shit, you still might come home with great shots.
Me?
I love foggy days like this one… I love shots with atmosphere, scenes that look like they were ripped out of a horror movie.
Every day is a practise day… Let’s put it this way.
#94 Watersley Late Autumn Shot
It was quiet.
Way too quiet.
The kind of morning where most birds already left.
I was just cycling past Watersley, heading towards the top of Kollenberg where I was planning to stop and take some photos. But then the sky turned pink. I hit the brakes, got off the bike, and stood there… watching light spill over the old church tower. Every leaf on the path looked great in the light.
It felt so good to be there… I reminded myself why I’m doing it… why I’m getting up early and chasing light… It’s because of moments like these.
Because every once in a while, the sky does this and I’m happy to there with my camera, taking the shots.
#93 On The Way To Geleen
A shot of an empty road from a bridge that connects Sittard and Geleen.
Took it early in the morning while cycling to Geleen…
…and I can still feel the cold.
My hands were frozen like they were holding a pack of beer straight from the fridge.
But you know what?
Despite being cold and miserable,
I felt good taking the shot.
#92 The Kind of Morning You Don’t Forget
I think out of all the years I’ve gone out for early morning MTB rides, this was the best morning ever.
You know that feeling when everything just clicks? Your bike’s running smooth, the temperature’s perfect, you’re dressed just right for the weather.
You’re in that zone… perfectly centered, free, thinking to yourself…
“Damn… this might be the best morning ever.”
That was the day.
And the bonus?
I had my camera with me.
I was taking shots, soaking it all in, not wanting the morning to end.
Snapped this one just after Puth village… and honestly, I couldn’t get enough of that moment.
Perfect morning.
Perfect light.
Perfect peace.
Sometimes that’s all you need.
#88 Sittard Hospital
Lately, I’ve been obsessed with shooting vertical panoramas… stacking 5 or 6 shots and stitching them together in Lightroom.
Why?
Because it gives you massive, high-detail images that look incredible in print.
You don’t need crazy high megapixel camera. Just a steady hand and a bit of overlap between shots.
Lightroom does the rest.
Some of the final images turn out huge… the kind you could hang on a wall and still see every bit of detail up close.
I’ve got a 19mm Sigma lens that is perfect for vertical shots…
Anyway…
If you’re curious, I’ve got a few of those prints ready:

#86 Field At Night Kollenberg
“Sometimes you don’t find the shot. The shot finds you.”
Rolling into December super strong with a shot I took a while ago. I went up Kollenberg after dusk with no idea what I’m gonna shoot. Just chasing that feeling of beeing outside, in the dark, walking around Kollenberg.
At first I thought nothing fancy to shoot but then the carved lines so perfect they looked like someone drew them.
Felt like each one leading into infinity.
So I took a shot.
#85 Geleenbeek Munstergeleen
A shot from my morning walk in Munstergeleen overlooking Geleenbeek.
One second, everything was gray and lifeless. The next, it looked like a scene ripped straight out of a film.
Beautiful!
#81 Silhouette Of St. Peter’s Church
My favorite silhouette of St. Peter’s Church in Sittard.
No doubt about it.
The sky was on fire… the sun slicing through. The reds were so vivid I couldn’t take my eyes off it.
You could see every shade of gold. Nature put on a real show that day, and I’m damn glad I captured it.
Oh, and the spot where I stood to take this shot? Gone. Erased. Demolished.
That’s what makes it hit harder for me.
It’s a moment that existed once… and now it’s burned into memory.
#79 Rijksweg Zuid – Long Exposure
Evening shot from Rijksweg Zuid. My first ever long exposure shot.
#74 Late Autumn Sittard
I took this shot while mountain biking along the stream years ago. Autumn was showing off. The air smelled like wet leaves, the ground was a muddy mess, and every corner looked like a potential for a snapping a quick shot.
Cold morning day but perfect.
#72 Milky Way From A Czech Campround
I took this shot in Beskydy Mountains in the Czech Republic. Was trying to capture the Milky Way but the light polution, even in the mountains, is too strong.
#68 Port Zélande At Sunset
Perfect evening?
Absolutelly!
I couldn’t wish for better light.
No wind…
The boats barely moved. The water looked like glass…
No rush.
No noise.
No stress.
Amazing evening!
#67 Morning In Standspark Sittard
“Every time you skip a session, you’re delaying your growth. Showing up, even imperfectly, is better than not at all.”
